Volleyball Recap: Flower Mound Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Lovejoy

Flower Mound faced Lovejoy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Jaguars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leopards. The Jaguars were not able to make up for their loss to the Leopards from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Grace Pinegar paced Flower Mound's offense, picking up ten kills. Pinegar got some help from HAYDEN CURTIS and her 15 assists. Finally, Pinegar was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Lovejoy can attribute much of their success to Avery Gray, who had 16 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Gray has posted over her last eight contests.

This is the second loss in a row for Flower Mound and nudges their season record down to 11-7. As for Lovejoy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Coming up, Flower Mound will take on Monsignor Pace at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Lovejoy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop Lynch at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
