If Jeff Davis wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Thomasville, they should've done a better job of containing Xavier Burkes Jr.. The Thomasville Bulldogs managed a 66-61 victory over the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets on Friday thanks to Burkes Jr., who went 10-for-17 to rack up 33 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (75%).

Another player making a difference was Jordan Mitchell, who posted eight points and six boards. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy.

Despite the loss, Jeff Davis still got an impressive performance from Malachi Smith, who scored 28 points. The contest was Smith's third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of J'Varis Bryant, who had 15 points.

Thomasville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games. Jeff Davis has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.

Thomasville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-59 loss against East Laurens on the 19th. As for Jeff Davis, they have also already played their next matchup, a 74-37 defeat against Model on the 19th.
