Soccer Game Preview: Mount Airy vs. North Surry

The Mount Airy Granite Bears will challenge the North Surry Greyhounds at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mount Airy came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 5-0 to North Stokes.

Meanwhile, North Surry didn't have quite enough to beat East Surry on Tuesday and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, North Surry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 216th, while East Surry are ranked 71st).

Mount Airy now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for North Surry, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2-1.
