Football Recap: Hopewell Titans vs. West Charlotte Lions

Hopewell fell victim to West Charlotte and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 47-0 loss at the hands of the West Charlotte Lions. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Lions are ranked 18th).

Ty Sigler threw for 75 yards on nine of 18 attempts. Kamari Cooke was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards.

West Charlotte found their leader in underclassman Jamouri Nichols, who threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (110 yards to be exact) went to Donte Nicholson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Hopewell and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for West Charlotte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Hopewell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-14 loss against Chambers on the 10th. West Charlotte has also already played their next match, a 40-14 defeat against Hough on the 10th.
