Tri-County recap October 8, 2013
McCann Tech extended the longest winning streak in Tri-County this week by beating Ware, 34-8. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Hornets.
Mohawk Trail Regional scaled the state rankings by moving to 218 from 257 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors were able to move up by defeating Pioneer Valley Regional 64-6.
Andrew Doty threw for 158 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 8-11 with 1 interception.
Doty and Stephen Reynolds gave Mohawk Trail Regional a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Keith Whittaker also contributed to the rushing game with 80 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of CJ Daignault and Kyle Laffey, Franklin County Tech has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Daignault is tops in the league in passing with 324 yards, while Laffey has rushed for 608 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is McCann Tech's Rahmer Vincent, with 99 yards on 5 catches.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Eagles and Doug McCloud's team face off next week.
Next week's game between Franklin County Tech and the Warriors will feature a good passing match up as Daignault will test his arm against Luke Looman's defensive ability.
A big matchup in Tri-County this week will be when Mohawk Trail Regional takes on Joseph Gamache's team. At the moment, the Warriors are in second, while the Eagles are in third.
The league will see a high scoring game when Mohawk Trail Regional and Franklin County Tech face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Warriors comes in having scored 216 this season, while the Eagles have scored 169. Mohawk Trail Regional scored 64 points last week as it topped the Panthers.
Bob LeClair's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,719 from 10,390. The improvement was the result of a 34-8 victory over the Indians last week.
