Softball Recap: Palisades Beats Southern Lehigh for Their Eighth Straight Victory

Palisades entered their tilt with Southern Lehigh on Monday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They had just enough and edged out the Spartans 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since March 21st.

Karlye Teman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Catie Russo was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Lucas, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Palisades pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Lehigh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Palisades will welcome Notre Dame-Green Pond at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
