Salem Hills hadn't done well against Springville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Skyhawks walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Red Devils. The win was familiar territory for the Skyhawks, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Jocile Norman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Camryn Guest was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Audree Stokes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Salem Hills pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Springville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem Hills will head out to take on Spanish Fork at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Dons will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Skyhawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Springville, they will head out on the road to challenge Maple Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 12.1 runs per game this season.
