Volleyball Recap: Elkton/Lake Benton Takes a Loss

Elkton/Lake Benton extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-5. They fell 2-0 to the Burke Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Elks of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Burke, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-5 Arlington and 2-5 Elkton/Lake Benton.

Kyrie Matucha was the offensive standout of the match as she had seven digs and two aces.

Elkton/Lake Benton has already played their next contest (against Arlington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Burke, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Faulkton on the 13th.
