Volleyball Recap: Licking Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Licking Valley lost against Mt. Vernon back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets.

The final score came out to 25-12, 21-25, 25-9, 25-23.

Alexa Gilliam paced Licking Valley's offense, picking up seven kills. Gilliam were helped by Emory Whisner and Sami Whitehair, who contributed nine assists each. Emily Conaway controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Callie Swanson had a dynamite game For Mt. Vernon., getting 23 assists and ten digs. That's the most assists Swanson has posted over her last eight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Komitau, who had 26 assists.

Licking Valley now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Mt. Vernon, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Licking Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Newark Catholic on the 18th. As for Mt. Vernon, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Heath on the 18th.
