Doral Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Miami Beach a 14-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Firebirds, who have now won 22 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Camila Diaz looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Meanwhile, Monarch posted their closest win since March 6th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fort Lauderdale, sneaking past 6-4.
The team relied heavily on Sara Connor, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Mylie Carlson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Doral Academy's victory was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Monarch, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Doral Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like Monarch struggles in that department as they've averaged .404. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
