Underclassman Nathan Coates came into Tuesday's contest looking to prove himself and that's exactly what he did. On Tuesday he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and only one walk), which was good enough to set a new career-high in strikeouts. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Coates and Rosemont will take on Bear River at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coates has dominated as far as earned runs are concerned (he's averaged 0.2 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering the Bruins have only allowed five per game this season.
