Basketball Recap: Cherokee County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Cherokee County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-59 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hokes Bluff Eagles. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 53-38 to the Eagles when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Cherokee County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tatum Perry shot 48% from the field to rack up 31 points along with five boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perry has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keyshawn Woods, who went 5-for-6 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Cherokee County's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hokes Bluff, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Cherokee County will take on Sand Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hokes Bluff, they will square off against Ashville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
