Recap: Whitewright Tigers vs. Celeste Blue Devils

The Whitewright Tigers suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Celeste on the road and fell 55-15. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Whitewright has scored all season.

Celeste's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennedy Compton, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Compton continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Taylea West was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Whitewright bumped their record down to 11-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Celeste, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Whitewright will be playing in front of their home fans against Sam Rayburn at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Celeste, they will head out on the road to square off against Wolfe City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
