Volleyball Game Preview: Berkeley Yellowjackets vs. Carondelet Cougars

The Berkeley Yellowjackets will head out to take on the Carondelet Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Berkeley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Tamalpais 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Berkeley was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (105-99), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 21-25, 13-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Carondelet hadn't done well against Foothill recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Cougars walked away with a 3-1 win over the Falcons.

Carondelet was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 23-25, 25-15, 25-22.

Carondelet's victory bumped their record up to 26-9. As for Berkeley, their win bumped their record up to 18-8.

Berkeley couldn't quite get it done against Carondelet in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
