Soccer Game Preview: Mid-Carolina vs. Clinton

For the first time this season, Mid-Carolina will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will head out on the road to face off against the Clinton Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Mid-Carolina's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last three matchups.

Mid-Carolina's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against North Central as Mid-Carolina made off with a 5-0 victory. The Rebels' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Meanwhile, Clinton managed to keep up with Newberry until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Clinton lost 3-0 to Newberry. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Red Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Clinton now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Mid-Carolina, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Mid-Carolina took their victory against Clinton in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mid-Carolina since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
