Volleyball Recap: Mater Dei Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Abby Kuhl and Ava Lampe + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mater Dei can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Normal University Pioneers on Monday. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Mater Dei had strong showings from Ava Lampe, who had 17 digs and two assists, and Abby Kuhl, who had eight digs and two assists. Lampe has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Emma Jean Lehnen had an outrageously good game for Normal University as she had 27 digs and five assists. That's the most assists Lehnen has posted since back in October of 2024.

Mater Dei's loss dropped their record down to 33-7. As for Normal University, the victory (which was their 28th in a row) raised their record to 36-4.

Mater Dei does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Normal University, they will face off against Prairie Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
