Basketball Game Preview: Castor Tigers vs. Claiborne Christian Crusaders

The Castor Tigers will square off against the Claiborne Christian Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Castor was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 72-68 to Quitman. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Claiborne Christian came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Glenbrook with a sharp 56-33 win on Tuesday. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Claiborne Christian's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Castor, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Castor took their win against Claiborne Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 91-67. Will Castor repeat their success, or does Claiborne Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
