Baseball Game Preview: Paramount Pirates vs. St. Anthony Saints

The Paramount Pirates will take on the St. Anthony Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Paramount didn't have quite enough to beat Bellflower and fell 7-6. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

David Serrano was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Quinones, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Anthony, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Artesia 9-8. The victory continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Owen Frazier, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Matthew James was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

St. Anthony lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February of 2024.

St. Anthony's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Paramount, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
