Belleville West won the last time they faced Granite City and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Maroons came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 2-0.

While Belleville West won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-11.

Aidan Idrees paced Belleville West's offense, picking up nine kills. Idrees got some help from Tyler Lintz and his 15 assists. Lintz was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Belleville West's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Granite City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Belleville West will challenge Father McGivney Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Granite City, they will take on Bunker Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
