Recap: Musselman Applemen vs. Spring Mills Cardinals
On Friday, the Musselman Applemen faced the Spring Mills Cardinals in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Musselman was dealt a 98-27 defeat at the hands of Spring Mills. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Musselman has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Musselman had strong showings from Logan Shelton, who scored nine points along with two steals, and Wade Bartles, who scored three points.
Musselman are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4. As for Spring Mills, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Musselman will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against University at 7:30 p.m. University will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Musselman is ranked 19th). Spring Mills on the road again on Tuesday and play against Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Frederick is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
