Volleyball Recap: Eliza Smith and Taylor Battista Secure Win for Williamsburg

It was a proper cat-fight when Williamsburg faced off against Bethel-Tate on Tuesday. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 win over the Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

While Williamsburg might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Bethel-Tate scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21.

Williamsburg was led to victory by Taylor Battista and Eliza Smith. Battista had ten digs, while Smith had eight kills. That's the most digs Battista has posted over her last six contests. Cailee Johnson also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Williamsburg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They are a perfect 4-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

The victory got Williamsburg back to even at 4-4. As for Bethel-Tate, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.

Williamsburg has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Clermont Northeastern on the 4th. Bethel-Tate has also already played their next game (against Georgetown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
