Basketball Game Preview: Jones County Greyhounds vs. Union Grove Wolverines

The Jones County Greyhounds will head out on the road to face off against the Union Grove Wolverines at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Jones County turned things around against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy on Tuesday. They walked away with a 58-46 win over the Chargers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Union Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-48 victory over Ola on Tuesday.

Union Grove's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Jones County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.

Jones County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Union Grove when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 66-61 win. Will Jones County repeat their success, or does Union Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
