Volleyball Recap: Benton Falls Short of Argyle in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Benton can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Argyle Orioles on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Zephyrs in their meetings with the Orioles: they've now lost three in a row.

Addalee Lawrence paced Benton's offense, picking up four kills. Lawrence were helped by Madeline Davis and Arianna Stochl, who contributed four assists each. Vanessa Vosberg controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Argyle found their leader in sophomore Brynn Harris, who had 13 digs and two aces. Harris is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Argyle, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 24-1.

Benton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Argyle, they will face off against Southwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
