Softball Game Preview: Fairview Panthers vs. Plainview Hornets

The Fairview Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Plainview Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Fairview has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Fairview after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 13-7 to Hicks. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Plainview and St. Joseph's - Plaucheville had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Plainview came up short against St. Joseph's - Plaucheville on Tuesday, falling 19-5. The Hornets have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Plainview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Fairview, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything went Fairview's way against Plainview in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Fairview made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairview since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
