It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Kingstown had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 21-13 win over the East Providence Townies. The victory was nothing new for the Rebels as they're now sitting on five straight.
Cole Rosen threw for 76 yards on only six passes. Kai Sorlein was his top target, picking up 76 receiving yards. On the ground, Dante Peno rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns.
Although East Providence took the loss, they still got scores from Jacob Duarte and Daviean Orefice.
South Kingstown's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for East Providence, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Kingstown will head out to take on Westerly at 12:00 p.m. on the 23rd. As for East Providence, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on La Salle Academy at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
