Volleyball Recap: Bountiful's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Bountiful was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bonneville on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The RedHawks fell just short of the Farmington Phoenix by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The RedHawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Phoenix apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

While Farmington got the win, Bountiful sure made them earn it: two sets took extra rallies. The final score came out to 26-24, 23-25, 22-25, 26-24, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Bountiful saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jared Calder had 14 digs and one assist. Calder is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Bountiful's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4. As for Farmington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Bountiful wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Roy on the 17th. As for Farmington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Layton on the 17th.
