Softball Recap: Greeneville's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Greeneville extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping their season record up to 17-13 in the process. They blew past the West Greene Buffaloes 13-1. Considering the Greene Devils have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaley Garland was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Kyla Jobe, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Greeneville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 13-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

As for West Greene, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

On West Greene's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Willett, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Willett has snagged this season.

Coming up, Greeneville is taking a road trip to face off against Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Greene, they will host University School at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
