La Joya won against Edinburg last Friday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Coyotes put the hurt on the Edinburg North Cougars with a sharp 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Coyotes, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Gael Zambrano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other pitching news, Edgardo Garcia looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

Back at the plate, Samuel De Leon was a standout: he scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Sayavedra, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

La Joya always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edinburg North only posted an OBP of .381.

La Joya's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Edinburg North, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season.

La Joya will have a chance to go back-to-back against Edinburg North: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
