Baseball Recap: Owensboro Catholic Comes Up Short

Owensboro Catholic managed to slip by Owensboro the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Aces lost 7-1 to the Red Devils on Thursday. The Aces were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Devils earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

Owensboro Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Hood, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Hood's first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Owensboro Catholic and nudges their season record down to 14-11. As for Owensboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Owensboro Catholic will host Henderson County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Owensboro, they will take on Apollo at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
