Soccer Game Preview: New Albany vs. Choctaw Central

The New Albany Bulldogs will square off against the Choctaw Central Warriors on Saturday. New Albany will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

New Albany is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Amory onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. The Bulldogs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Lauren Hobson and Kiristen Knox scored both of New Albany's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Meanwhile, Choctaw Central came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over the Cavaliers. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by three goals or more this season.

New Albany has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 57 goals over those 11 matches. As for Choctaw Central, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.

New Albany came out on top in a nail-biter against Choctaw Central when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 4-3. Will New Albany repeat their success, or does Choctaw Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
