Volleyball Recap: ALA - Anthem South Takes a Loss

ALA - Anthem South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat two weeks ago.

The final score came out to 25-5, 25-13, 25-9.

Among those leading the charge was John Vu, who had five aces and three digs. That's the most aces he has posted over his last six matchups.

ALA - Anthem South's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, ALA - Anthem South will welcome BASIS Phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Madison Highland Prep on the 11th.
