Baseball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short

Douglas lost against Tanque Verde back in April of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Douglas Bulldogs came up short against the Tanque Verde Hawks, falling 14-7. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Christopher Escarcega made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Andres Hoyos also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Tanque Verde, their record is now 6-3-1.

Douglas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-2 loss against Desert View on the 13th. As for Tanque Verde, they will venture away from home to square off against Walden Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tanque Verde is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.
