Volleyball Recap: Big Rapids Takes a Loss

Big Rapids was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grant Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-17, 20-25, 25-14.

Grant found their leader in sophomore Longcore Emma, who had five digs and four aces. Carlisle Aiyana also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Big Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 7-19-1. As for Grant, they pushed their record up to 26-14-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Big Rapids will square off against Lakeview at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Grant, after both having extra time off, they and Fruitport will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
