Soccer Recap: Elbert County Comes Up Short

If Elbert County was feeling good fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Washington-Wilkes last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Elbert County Blue Devils lost 6-3 to the Providence Christian Academy Storm on Tuesday. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 5-2.

Paulina Guerrero and Melanie Badillo scored all three of Elbert County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Elbert County's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Providence Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Elbert County wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Rabun County on the 6th. As for Providence Christian Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Oglethorpe County on the 7th.
