Recap: Desert Edge Scorpions vs. Canyon View Jaguars
The Desert Edge Scorpions had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 35-12 margin over Canyon View. The result was nothing new for Desert Edge, who have now won four games by 23 points or more so far this season.
Desert Edge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Markhi Mckinnon led the charge by rushing for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Hezekiah Millender also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Canyon View's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Beau Devens, who threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns.
Desert Edge's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. As for Canyon View, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Edge will face off against Cactus at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Canyon View, they will head out on the road to face off against Verrado at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Verrado is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
