Recap: Bishop Blanchet Bears vs. Marysville Getchell
On Saturday, Bishop Blanchet was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 26-21 to Marysville Getchell. Bishop Blanchet has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Marysville Getchell to victory were Shawn Etheridge and Andrew Withers. Etheridge rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, while Withers rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns.
Bishop Blanchet's loss was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 14-0 Yelm and 7-2 Eastside Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.7% over those games). As for Marysville Getchell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Bishop Blanchet does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marysville Getchell also has no future games currently scheduled.
