Softball Recap: Old Lyme Wildcats vs. East Hampton Bellringers        
        
		
            
 Old Lyme came tearing into  Wednesday's  contest with three straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the East Hampton Bellringers with a sharp  13-1 win. Considering Old Lyme has won four matches by more than 11  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Emma Bayor was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 14 batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and only one walk). Bayor has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. Bayor was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Sybil Neary was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Magdalena Tooker, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.
 On East Hampton's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kailyn Granatowski, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Old Lyme's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 7-1. As for East Hampton,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-6.
 Old Lyme will head out on the road to  challenge  Valley Regional at 3:45  p.m.  on Friday. Valley Regional has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.89  runs per game on average), something Old Lyme will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for East Hampton, they will be playing at home against Hale Ray at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hale Ray is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 15  runs per game  this season.
