Middletown South hadn't done well against Freehold Boro recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Colonials. The Eagles were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Colonials, so the Eagles were just returning the favor.

Middletown South's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Freehold Boro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middletown South will take on Christian Brothers Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Freehold Boro, they will square off against Holmdel at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Colonials surely won't give up without a fight.
