Football Recap: Ridge Community Takes a Loss

Ridge Community fell victim to Ridgeview Global Studies Academy and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 13-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers. The Bolts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Explorers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Gabriela Gomez threw for 35 yards while completing 80% of her passes. Abegael Benoit was her top target, picking up 57 receiving yards. On the ground, Antinayah Sims rushed for 50 yards.

The critical scores for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy came from Jihanna Ahmetaj and Gracie Fahy.

This is the second loss in a row for Ridge Community and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Ridge Community will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Evans at 7:00 p.m. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy hasn't scored more than 13 points for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
