Softball Recap: Wartburg Central Falls Short of Greenback in the Playoffs

Wartburg Central and Greenback squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Wartburg Central had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cherokees by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cherokees apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Wartburg Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleigh Crouch, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Wartburg Central's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Greenback, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Wartburg Central nor Greenback have any future games scheduled.
