Volleyball Recap: Kenidee Nix and Alana Costello Secure Win for Mead

Mead won the last time they faced Horizon and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mavericks came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mavericks.

Mead had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-19, 25-16, 25-18.

Leading Mead to victory were Alana Costello and Kenidee Nix. Costello had 19 digs and two aces, while Nix had eight digs. Those eight digs gave Nix a new career-high. Caila Cram also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Mead's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Horizon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mead is set to square off against their familiar foe Silver Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Horizon will challenge rival Holy Family at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
