Baseball Game Preview: Croatan Cougars vs. Eastern Randolph Wildcats

The Croatan Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Eastern Randolph Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Croatan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Croatan fell victim to Person and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Rockets, falling 6-0.

Croatan got a good showing from Noah Cox, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Meanwhile, Eastern Randolph started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Martin County. They lost 12-3 to the Gators on Tuesday.

Carlos Cordero made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Bryson Marley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Croatan has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Eastern Randolph, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
