Volleyball Recap: Immaculate Heart Academy Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Immaculate Heart Academy proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Westwood Cardinals 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Eagles have posted since September 19th.

Immaculate Heart Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Kovalcik, who had 20 digs and five aces. Those 20 digs gave Kovalcik a new career-high. Lilith Roman was another key player, getting 30 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Immaculate Heart Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matchups.

Immaculate Heart Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Westwood fell to 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Immaculate Heart Academy will venture away from home to face off against Sparta at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Westwood, they will face off against Pascack Valley on Tuesday.
