The North Stanly Comets will venture away from home to take on the Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Stanly will be strutting in after a win while Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

North Stanly took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against North Rowan by a score of 35-23. The high-scoring effort was just what the Comets needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Zay Dockery was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 165 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Those 165 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylan Dockery, who rushed for 55 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Stanly was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 421 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 38-6 defeat at the hands of Mountain Island Charter. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-0.

North Stanly's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.5 points over those games. As for Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
