Basketball Recap: Coralee Grove's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dickson County over Clarksville

It was a proper cat-fight when Dickson County faced off against Clarksville on Thursday. The Dickson County Cougars came up short against the Clarksville Wildcats, falling 62-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since November 26, 2024.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Coralee Grove, who posted eight points and five boards. Brela Johnson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Clarksville was led to victory by Malon Smith and Shakiah Vance. Smith went 9 for 19 en route to 19 points in addition to eight steals and six assists, while Vance went 8 of 15 on her way to 22 points and four steals. The contest was Smith's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ally Howard, who scored nine points and eight rebounds.

Dickson County's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Clarksville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
