Esparto had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Pierce Bears out 4-3. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

Esparto hit Pierce with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alan Venegas, Alexander Luna, David Martinez, and Emmanuel Navarro.

Esparto's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pierce, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Esparto will face off against Woodland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Esparto has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 19 goals over their last three matches. As for Pierce, they will challenge Rio Linda at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Rio Linda's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
