Football Game Preview: Murtaugh vs. Mackay

Mackay have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They and Murtaugh go head to head on Friday at 5:00 PM in their first playoff contest of the year. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close game.

After a disappointing six points in their last matchup, Murtaugh made sure to put some points up on the board against Hagerman last Friday. Murtaugh were fully in charge, breezing past Hagerman 57-14. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Murtaugh, who can brag about six blowout wins.

Meanwhile, if Mackay were riding high off their 64-0 takedown of Clark County/Watersprings four weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Three weeks ago, Mackay came up short against North Gem, falling 12-20.

Murtaugh's victory lifted them to 6-3 while Mackay's defeat dropped them down to 3-4. We'll see if Murtaugh's success rolls on or if Mackay are able to steal their positive momentum.
