6A Region 6 league recap: 3/27/13

Terry had a successful week, as it won four total games to lead the league. The Bulldogs beat Brandon 3-0, Forest Hill 16-0, the Patriots 12-0 and Meridian 5-3.

Brandon trail Terry by just 1.5 games in 6A Region 6 standings, which means there could be a new first-place team by next week.

Brandon's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing three hits and three walks to lead the league in both categories.

Although the 117 runs scored by the Bulldogs topped the league, the Bulldogs maintained their lead in the league with 138 runs this season.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Tyler Cox, who turned in four Ks for Brandon. With 16 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks sixth in the league.

Nick Wilson threw a shutout as he led Terry to victory over Forest Hill, 12-0, on Friday. He pitched five scoreless innings and struck out 14, while giving up one hit.

Wilson drove in five runners on Friday in the Bulldogs' 12-0 victory over the Patriots. He went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
