Basketball Recap: Olathe Northwest Takes a Loss

Olathe Northwest was the 49-46 winner over Gardner-Edgerton when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Olathe Northwest Ravens took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers on Friday.

It was another big night for Landri Schaffer, who went 9-for-19 on her way to 23 points and three steals for Gardner-Edgerton. Schaffer's morning made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisen Ratley, who went 8-for-17 en route to 16 points.

Olathe Northwest now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Gardner-Edgerton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

The future could be bright for both Olathe Northwest and Gardner-Edgerton: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Olathe Northwest will try to hand Shawnee Mission West their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gardner-Edgerton will look to extend Olathe East's six-game losing streak when they meet on Tuesday.
