Basketball Recap: Pine View Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Pine View won the last time they faced Snow Canyon and Jelani Odjegba did his part to make sure it happened again. The Panthers enjoyed a cozy 55-40 win over the Warriors on Wednesday for which the team can thank Odjegba, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last four times he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Snow Canyon lost, don't look at Reggie MacKay. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-15 to rack up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Issaiah Thompson, who shot 71% from the field en route to 10 points.

Pine View pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. As for Snow Canyon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Pine View is taking a road trip to take on Timpanogos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Snow Canyon, they will welcome Canyon View at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
